ISPA - Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail - Course Details
The holder is certified as the skipper and navigator, to be responsible for the safety of his/her sailing vessel and crew for coastal passages within 50 miles of safe harbor, in coastal/tidal waters, where navigational and weather hazards exist, day or night with good visibility.
The next step for the Day Skipper who wants to bare boat charter sail in coastal tidal waters nationally or internationally. Advanced Sailing Course includes:

Ashore Based Theory Portion - ISPA Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail ashore theory portion can be studied by self paced home study correspondence. Prepares students for afloat practical portion and adds to skipper safety and confidence on the sailboat in a coastal environment. Order text when registering for this course. (20 hours of home study).
Text/Workbook - $42.50 plus shipping
Afloat Practical - On the water component duration must be live-aboard in tidal waters, minimum 5 days including 4 night hours, 125 miles. Stand a rotational navigational watch for the duration of the component. Choose an afloat course date that is right for you. Obtain on the water competency in all of the Coastal Skipper performance objectives to earn your ISPA Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail Certification. Coastal Skipper afloat practical is usually combined with the Coastal Navigation practical component.
